Ok all I need some help here. On thurs my truck was booked in to do a front locker (2002 dodge with a dana 60) well as per usual my luck has it that neither the auburn nor the detroit the company had in stock will work in my diff ( something about a shaft being to short or something like that). Is anyone out there having this same problem or will any locker out there work.

If you have a locker in your rig pls let me know what it is and how well its working . My season is starting soon and I need to get the front a locker asap.

Thanks James c/o staxmotorsports.:Cheer:

I used an ARB for the Dana 60 with no problems at all. Great for the daily driven truck as well.

Eaton Electric locker for the front, worked great, and as of Friday night, it was till working great.

I am running a Detroit tru-trac, in the front in my 60 and works great!!! un-locks MOST of the time when you turn when straightened up locks back up

Go with the ARB air locker they are bulletproof and extremely reliable

I have ARB's at both ends,...pricey....but best selectable locker on the market, with flawless operation...

although the ARB isn't bulletproof(mine broke) it did do very well for many yrs, I'd vote for that, but it's not cheap like stated, but it's ability to lock and unlock with the flick of a switch is great---but ol' sleddy has had good luck with his, so that would be a good choice---of course a spool is the best---guess what I have now---yep a spool with 35 spline axles----chris

Chris, you have a spool in the front on your daily driver?

I guess it's doable with the Posi-Loc.

That's what I am running as well and sure is the most ideal/reliable, but mine is not a daily driver anymore. Definately do-able with the Posi-loc accessory for a daily driver.

yes I have a spool ---but I do have the WARN lock out hubs now and the CAD is long gone--no more 2 pc front axle shaft---it now has 2 inner and 2 outer 35 spline axle shafts---with the warn hubs it's no problem--the posi-lock cable is gone also---I'm in the 60's mode now on the front end---I did lose my ABS though, but it's been no issue, except for the idiot lights---

anyway the ARB is a good option, but mine did break, so they aren't bullet proof, but I do believe they may have updated the part that went south on me, but it was still a pricey job to tear it apart and put it back together again, but all of them can break, although I'm betting the spool will outlast all of them----chris

I feel that the warn premium lockouts are a weak link. Many people have mentioned that also. I have drive plates to install for truck pulling and if I want to do smoe street work, put the hubs on.

csutton7- What broke on your ARB's?...I want to make sure I don't have the same problem in the future.

So Im curious how an arb or similar acts on the street when cornering or if thats not possible.

ARB's are completely "selectable"...

which means:

When the switch if off,...you have an open diff.."one wheel peel"
When the switch is on...100% posi

and when you flip the switch,..it locks instantaneously!

So....on the road, you keep the switch off.

The only time I switch mine on is,....racing, and offroad.

I was just curoius about cornering like the scca cars. I assume they lock the rear with a detroit or something like most racing styles do to get maximum traction. But you are sayin on road its no good.

ARB's will act like any other locker when engaged,...they will chirp going around turns, and will wear the tires faster on the road.

But if you don't engage them,...they are just like every other stock truck on the road....no issues
