i swapping my unit bearings out for the locking hub set up and had an idea

i already have the ford knuckles, calipers, spindles, outer shafts, and rotors. i know that some gm, ford and dodge locking set-ups from the 90s and 80s use the same bearings and seals-so will gm or dodge hubs go on the ford spindles? ford 50 or 60 hubs are hard to come by and pricey when you do find them

the same goes for the lock outs, i have seen the 30 spline warn ones for dodge, gm or ford so they all should interchange????

Have you checked out Pirate4x4? They a big thread in Dodge Tech with a lot of info about the conversion.

your talking about the one with the girl swapping the stuff on the red dodge on pirate4x4?

Check out Billavista's Dana 60 Bible, should tell you what interchanges, along with part numbers and all that good stuff.

Bolt on package from stock parts, no.

Modify stock parts to bolt in place, yes. (Mainly re-drilling the spindle bolt pattern)

Or just buy one of the kits out there that a few companies are selling these days.

wrong for the 99 (i think) and older front axle's. you will need 97 or older Outer knuckles, splindles, hubs, shafts, calipers, rotors, and lockouts. they will bolt right up, you will have to mod your steering abit but it works.

ya i have read that posting alot but didnt see anything in there about using gm or dodge hubs on the ford spindles, im doing a plumbing job at a pick apart so i have unlimited access to the trucks there so im just going to go start pulling things apart and comparing

oh does anyone know what kind of truck or van would have a dana 60 with a 30 spline L.S. i could pull to put in my front axle?

only ford hubs on ford spindles. if you want everything to fit right just use all ford stuff no swaping brands. if you want it to fit right just everything ford from the balljoints out.

hell even 1999-2004 superduty knuckles will go onto the 1994-99 (i think) axles. but then youd have the metric bolt pattern. see i swap 1997 knuckles onto a 2004 axle and put leafs under my truck. so mine dodge has got a high pinion dana 60 from a 2004 ford superduty with 1997 ford knuckles on it. lol lots of mix and match stuff on my truck.

stub axles are different lengths between ford and gm(dodge) dana 60s with kingpins. Like said use all the ford stuff from 97 and older. the dana 50 ttb front end uses the dana 60 outers also.

listen to what 17 cumminsboy is saying, using the ford stuff on a dodge is the way, it gives you locking hubs, it eliminates the unit bearings, and gives you the upgrade to double piston calipers

only the hubs will interchange, knuckles, shafts and spindles are different.
you sure of that?? I have a set on my truck from a 91 f-250 with a dana 50. all I had to do was drill the the dana 50 spindle to match the 4 bolts that dodge knuckles have. I used the spindle, outer axle, hub(with bearings) and locking hub off the dana 50. The dana 50 splindle even fits snug in the knuckle to support the weight instead of just relying on the 4 bolts.

I have a limited slip 30spline carrier but its for 4.56 and numerical higher if you need it.

im talking about just on the ford axle. also im one of the first ones to put the spindles and hubs from a ford on the dodge knuckle. i didnt like it so i just put the whole ford axle into my truck. much better axle!!
