i recently put a new airdog 150 on my 01 5sp. now, i get a longer than normal crank some times. it happenes every day, but not everytime i start it. i checked all the lines and fitting and none are loose. no CEL or inactive codes, and not temp related. i have the 17psi spring in the pump. anyone ever have this problem before? and if so, what caused it?

my friends 12v had a similiar problem. We took the bed off to find out the the unit on top of the tank was not secured and sealed. We fixed it and that seemed to fix his problem

What kind of pick-up are you using?

That doesn't sound right at all. One of the things I like about having an electric pump, is it always fires right up.

Even when switching injectors or DVs, turn the pump on, let it run 15-20 seconds, it fires right up.

It sounds like the VP is getting pressure while cranking. Is it wired into the factory lift pump harness?

I used the draw straw that came with the kit. Has plenty of clearance from the bottom of the tank. Yes, it is using the factory lift pump harness.

Diaphragm is cracked in the vp44. In other words you need a new vp44.

Figures. Is there a cause to the cracked diaphragm? Or is it just one of them ass hole things that happenes?

Had the same problem and I believe/told I have a cracked diaphragm. I put a one way check valve up by the vp. It's a cheap bandaid but its worked for almost a year now haha

ive been waiting about 10 seconds after the wts light goes out before i start it. hasnt giving me anymore problems.
