would I benifit from longer control arms on my pickup? I have a 2" leveling kit and with the new tires I have they are a little close to the body when turning. The tires a 325/60/18's and the wheels are 18/9.5" with a 4.5" backspaceing. If I could move the axles forward about a 1" or more that would fix my problem I think. or is there something else I can do?

Yes, it will help, when you lift the front end the axle travels rearward.

You can do 1" that's what Mitchell has on his with only a leveling kit. But it takes more than just the longer arms.

I just throw 1" out there cause I wasnt foresure if that is what it took to make it right. but now I know what i need

I believe 1/2 is more common. He can make whatever length you need just PM him. His name is dieseldork on here. Top notch stuff.

I built my own upper and lower control arms. They are jeep JK bushing ends from teraflex for the lowers and some energy suspension bushings in 1/4 wall tubing for the uppers. Mine are adjustable on the lowers and are 1 1/4" over stock. I fit 37's with a leveling kit. You'll need to move the frame end mounting point for the track bar if you go over an inch forward. Other than that it's super easy.

You can go 1/2" with no problem some trucks you can squeeze it up to 3/4" anything more and the track bar mount on the frame hits the axle but this can be fixed with some 3rd gen track bar relocation mounts . I went a full 1" made a 3rd gen track bar mount and love it I have no tire rub at all ,My axle is centered in the wheelwell now .
