Well after a couple of months of hearing a gurgleing noise I finally pulled the head and upon inspection this is what I found. The circles are from the intake valves there is no cracks and as of now the valves seem to be ok. I will take the head to be checked out on Tuesday to be Magnafluxed and checked true and I guess I will be putting in some new springs hopefully the head is ok as it is ported and polished as well.

Hmm, looks like it might have been a little warm too! You now have custom flycut pistons!

What injectors are you running?

Since I had the head off last I have run II, Customs, and Dynomites....there is a lot of carbon build-up on the head also

So here you are with valves hitting pistons and I still can't make 500hp.

But you truck "is" taller than mine...and bluer(?) quit fretting about it and yank the head and have a look around. Opener up 20th. put a ported and polished C.R. head on it, add a little cam and presto 550hp. No problem...

3700+ last time I had the head off I should of put springs on but I was already $2500 down so they were going to have to wait, and now here we are... I see about 50-53 psi boost so I guess it is valve float. I plan on going with a 10th gasket and putting on some Hamilton Diesel springs, they weren't available last time or maybe I would of done it then.

Just don't quite understand all the carbon buildup? It is pretty ythick on there and very hard, a scotch brite pad won't take it off..

Heat, time, and lots of fuel will do that. I didn't realize that you didn't have springs in there. That explains the valve float.

The carbon build up was just as bad on mine when i pulled the head last. But dang that some serious heat around the bowl.
