Ok guys just put new ip on 2 days ago and now truck lopes its ass off once it warms up. I checked nubers on pump and everythng is matching up! It starts, runs and does everything fine but it lopes. I know some of you will say is fine and it may be but somethn aint right and i want to figure it out! I took sticks out again and had them tested. A few people have told me that i need to get my truck reflashed with new up date and it will help. Im just trying to figure it out. I think that new software in pump wouldnt cause this would it. Im ust goin off what the guys at industrial told me thats who the pump came from! Ive checked and no leaks and comp is completely off the truck right now.

I dont know. Thats one thing i dont understand. To me the purpose of the keyway is to keep the shaft from spinning inside the gear. Now Im sure its got a special purpose but it just doesnt make sense that a different keyway would play a roll in timing! But ive got good fp! At idle no haze or nothing. But when ac compressor kicks on it will lope hard for a second. It seems to idle kinda low. With old pump it idled 850-9ish with raptor. The ew one idles 800 even and when im on the gas then let off and let truck come back to idle it will drop to 700 or so then come back up!

Do you have big lines or crossover tubes?

have someone with cummins insite or some other program that can bump your idle up to 800 rpm. i would bet that takes care of your problem. keep us posted.

fuel temp sensor in the VP?? these are notorious for goin bad and making a truck lope, but not affecting performance

Pump is 2 days old! The truck is completely stock except for mods in sig. Somebody told me to load smarty on it then take it off and that will reflash it!

I have tried 3 different keys on my current vp (029) and none of them made it lope.
Only time I got lope I made sure everything was tight And sure enough the lope went away.

I gonna check it again and see what i can find out!

Why are you running an 029 pump?

And to the OP, there are like 32 different keys for these pumps. The pumps are ran on the stand and the computer testing equipment tells what key to put in the pump to make everything kosher. So...if the wrong key was put in it could cause a problem.

Thanks guys Im still having problems it lopes intermittent. Im now 600 miles from home and cant just work on it do to working 7-12s. I talked to industrial which is were the pump came from and they tried to tell me its fine. What are the chances of nozzles causing this. I had them pop tested and checked out good. But every since i put them in been chasing down pump problems or probs with the truck running like crap. Milage is piss poor. Truck used to get 17-18 highway and now barely 14 and that was 600 miles running 65. now im getting 0253-0216-1475-0238 codes. Im leaning towards pump but its so dusty in this rv park im not gonna tear it down and have dirt everywhere. Does anybody know and decent shop around Odessa,Tx.

KC you are having the same problem I am having, I thought I was the only one. I tryed every Dodge site there is and I have learned it is due to poor rebuild. PM me and I will tell you who not to buy from. You need another pump, I went thru all the ECM crap out there and ecm dont go bad trust me it,s the pump. Hook up to a heavy trailer and it will really lope. The hoter the truck gets the worse it gets. On a cold morning it will be fine for about 5 min. then start acting up again. I live in Tx and it gets close to 100 and I just wont to park the truck it sucks that bad.

that is exactly what its doing. In the mornuns is smooth as silk then as it warms up it gets worse and worse.

Up date install vp and no help, the pump is definetly a better quality no doubt. Still have surge, I think I am getting closer. We are going with injectors due to possible pressure, or cross over tube not aligned. Maybe leaking into return.
Surge goes down not up, if that makes sence. I dont belive it is ecm. 3k later we WILL fix this problem.:bang

I'm running the 029 vp cause I had quite the ordeal with Bd performance ripping me off on warranty after my hpvp44 bit the dust after 8 months. I found the 029 used and went with it. It actually runs better than the Bd vp that I had. I've now had a ho a bdhpvp a so and finally a 029 vp the 029 is the strongest up top also hotter than any other pump? When the truck was stock the 029 also gave me more boost but it did feel down on power in the bottom end compared to the ho and bdvp.

Had simular problem with BD, 5 months and vp died. Lied to me about pump. I had to prove my case only then warranty. Use your camera, video before you tear down you may need proof. Now running Blue Chip, you could here the diff. when it fired up.

Im trying to get pump off and get sent back to industrial to see what they have to say! If that dont help i will see if tubes are the problem.

I have injectors ordered, been ordered since Monday. Have a ecm just incase thats not it.
