loud noise from trans HELP!!

ok foward gears no noise but as soon as I put it in reverse there is a loud noise. fluid level is good. I can't really describe the noise but it kind of sounds like a clutch slipping. any suggestions? its an ats 47re I believe
 
YOu could put it in 1st drive down the road and see if you have an. engine breaking when you let off.
 
Reverse uses the direct clutch and the rear band. So if he has 3rd gear I would lean towards the rear band.

lol yeah tell me about it. when you got 2 out of 4 trucks down due to trans issues you can almost get another 12v for what it cost. its turning into a graveyard of dodge trucks around here
 
Regardless of the problem, I'm going to bet the trans is coming out if it is making noise.
 
i hear dat..i just spent 5k on a trans build and i sworei would never spend that kinda money...but ya almost gotta if ya dont wanna be dopin it again right away..my cheap rebuild cost me 2500 and 2yrs later and 88k it broke the input shfat cuz the triple sonnex conv was slipping....
