loud ticking noise!!

hey everyone i have a little problem,
when i get on the throttle and hit anywhere between 25-36psi i get a really loud ticking noise. this has happend to me before and it was because my valves were off. then 10k miles later it starts to do it again. so i take it to a different shop and he tells me they were off again but this time the ticking doesnt go away...what else could it be??
could it be timing, or my pump going out?? it is just a stock vp after all.

you could have a bent valve causing the ticking, or just plain worn out valve guides. That would be the first place I would look. The only other thing that would cause a loud tick would be badly scored cylinder walls.

well the ticking only happens at high rpms with full boost. but a valve would tick all the time same with cylender walls am i correct?
