I've got a guy with a 24V that is continuously loosing fuel pressure? He is using an Edge Attitude to monitor it and the thing keeps dropping to 0 PSI and the truck falls on it's face.. I just put a Raptor Pump on the truck less that a month ago. And the fuel filter was just changed...Is the Injection Pump dieing/Dead?

If you are actually losing fuel pressure, the IP can't be causing the problem...if may be dead, but it's not making it lose fuel pressure.

Wiring would be the first thing I'll ask about...how did you wire the Raptor?

Another thing, is does the Attitude de-fuel if there is no fuel pressure? I don't know...but if it does, then it could just be a bad sender for the FP gauge?

I wired the Raptor to the Stock FP. I think I'll try unhooking the Edge an go from there? I'll take a look at the Sending unit! Thanks Chris. I may suggest a Manual Fuel Pressure Guage vs. the Edge.

I would. Also, it may be worth it to check and see if the Raptor is still running when the FP drops. If it's not, wire it from a relay triggered by the stock wiring.

I'm thinking maybe the wiring isn't heavy enough? I've not messed with enough of them wired right from the stock wiring to know. I always run a relay.

Phill make sure the vent on the tank is working. If not the pump trying to suck the tank in. Just had this happen a few weeks ago on a 24v.

Using the Edge product I'm pretty sure your checking pressure right at the injection pump...right? If the truck is falling on it's face along with the fuel pressure drop, I'd say the gauge is doing its job.

If the pump is running as it should I would run a hose straight from the pump inlet into the fuel fill hole and test run it to eliminate the tanks suction assembly.

Man it look like I'm going to have a busy night tonight getting this thing back in shape.

Thanks again guys!

Wire in a relay to run the raptor, the ECM output for the FP is only good for about 3 amps and they have been known to burn out when running more than one pump.

One other question....If the vent was clogged removing the fuel cap should relieve the pressure right?

Make sure the check valve isnt stuck open on the return or sticking

Dude called me back last night...said the truck is fine now with great pressure? It's gonna do it again and he'll call me back with his panties in a bunch. As long as the truck is working he doesn't care. But the minute it screws up he is burning my phone up crying the blues wanting me to look at it that second.
