Low stall convertor and truck keeps stalling when cold

I have quite a bit of trans work done to my truck. Transgo shift kit, 48RE parts, added clutches, etc.

Anyhow about a year ago I smoked the torque converter I had. It was a single clutch disc and couldn't hold the power.

I put in a triple disc low stall unit from Transtar. Works great, but the problem I have is when the truck is cold, it will stall when I put it in gear. I end up having to give it some throttle while putting in gear and even then I have to fight with it some days.
I think it's just that it engages hard enough that the motor doesn't have a change to rev up a bit to deal with the added loaded. Kind of the same if you dumped the clutch on a manual trans truck.

Is this common on a low stall converter or maybe there is something I could do in the valve body??

do you know what the exact stall is on the TC. I know mine is a 1800 stall converter but did have it stall one time when it would not shift down to first when i came to a stop. this is normally the gov pressure switch is clogged with crap on the screen.

1700 stall in my single disc with no issues of stalling. Your idle a hair low?

I've seen it on a handful of 24v's, sometimes running the truck in neutral for 30 seconds would help. Scheid Hot Rod VP's cured the problem on 2 of the trucks.

I imagine he's still running a VP? If so, it's computer controlled.

Yeah still Vp44

This is the converter:

I don't have the check ball in the cooler line anymore so it will bleed down. Tried to mod the VB for lube circuit (same as neutral) in park but couldn't find solid info on how to do that.

Have tried running in idle for 10-15 secs, maybe I'm just not giving it enough time? It's weird that when it's warm outside, like around 35ish and above, I don't have trouble with it.
