Is there an advantage to running one of these. Would it keep a turbo spooled at the end of the track?

there are some topics on the subject worth searching; the gains are marginal, if measureable

I looked at all that and it does'nt answer any questions. They just talked about cracked manifolds and coatings. And everybody was gettin mad.
WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS? Who out there has one. Does it work.

I wondered the same thing so I did a goggle on header wraps and blankets. Most of the info is from the gasser world but the consensus seems to be, they're detrimental to the manifold. Heat and moisture is retained causing the manifold to break down much sooner than later. A good ceramic coating was more popular.

Have a 1.10 cut for that thing, go from their I see no disadvantage to this as long as you stay in a 1:1 range.

I've run my stock manifold with my 362 from ED with and without the blanket. I'd say spool time was about 75rpm quicker and once it starts to light it gets to full boost noticeably sooner. The short answer, it will only help you stay on your turbo or that would be my guess.

Can you honestly note a 75rpm difference?

I have no data logger but using my eyes and what the gauges say yes. These blankets have made a difference the above being just with the manifold blanket.

i have a manifold, and turbo blanket from Levi, and i love them. they make a very noteciable difference in spoolup, and mid range boost numbers from what i have seen. i also have the downpipe wraped, all this combined has reduced the underhood temps, which will help make more power. now as far as the blankets making the manifolds more prone to cracking, it's not so much the heat that is cracking the manifolds, but the repeated rapid cooling, and heating of the metal. i think that the blankets will actually help the manifolds last longer, due to the effect of the blanket holding in heat, thus the manifold cools down alot slower. when i go to shut the truck off, i have noticed that it takes about 20 sec. longer for the egt's to cool down to about 300deg., this is not a problem for me, since i had anticipated this when i installed the blankets. hope this helps!

I was thinkin of doin that also. But just exploring all my options. You know me i try to do this stuff cheap.

True but I DO NOT see this blanket keeping you lit on that 1.32/96 combo with a 80mm load!
