I cant remember if I have posted this on here before so if I have I'm gonna bore you agian. I installed a southbend DD with a 3250 pressure plate almost 8 months ago and ever since then it's hard to get in gear and you can't shift it until the RPM matches the ground speed. It's like it's engaged all the time but I can stop safley and it won't pull the truck with the clutch in and no brakes applied. I don't know if any one has had this problem before but it is really annoying and im sure it can't be good for the trans. It is a five speed and we did change the input shaft. not sure if that makes any difference though. We also changed fluids in transfer case and trans. case. I don't have any idea what could be wrong...any one have a suggestions?

mine did the same thing. After about 5k miles its not to bad. Just gotta break it in I quess?$.02

I had the same problem with my 3250DD. I called Peter and he sent me out a NEW deign of the Dual Disc. Its a 6 button ceramic thats a diaphram style. It sounded like there was a problem with the 12 button 3250s.
He really didnt say, but he sent out a new one no problem.

He said this new 6 button diaphram style dual disc is supposed to shift like a single. We'll see.
I will be installing it this weekend.

Hydraulic upgrade. Don't ask me why, but it seems like the slave goes when you put in a new clutch.
Just did a G-56 with a clutch that ''should'' have been fine with the stock hydraulics, but had the exact same issue you are having. New hydraulics and problem solved.

My truck was hard to shift after I installed a DD3250 also. I took it to Advanced Diesel Technology & Doug said that it was because I never took a spacer out behind the clutch fork. He took it out & all is well now. I'm not sure what he took out, but you could call & ask him 304-864-3399.

huh???? usally you have to put a washer behind the clutch fork pivot ball

with the DD, you take the washer out.

I had the same problems w/ my SBC DD. Peter took care of me big time and overnighted me an FE to get me back on the road. I'm not planning on making enough power to push through the FE, so I kept it

Thanks Forrest, that is exactly what he did, took a washer out. I couldn't remember what he said that he had to take out, but that is it.

Is this washer on 5spd only, or on the NV5600's too?

My 3250 12 button has been harder to shift since Peter rebuilt it about a year ago. Before the rebuild, it was a 10 button, diaphragm clutch, and after it is a 12 button, lever clutch. It shifts OK but not near as good as it did before!

Well I blew out my hydraulics twice already and finally replaced it with the heavy duty hydraulics from SB. And my buddy took the washer out...maybe I'll double check on that but he's a damn good mechanic, so I believe him. The clutch should be more than broke in by now it's got about 25k on it. The only thing I can thing of is to drop the trans agian and take a look. But I'm pretty sure everything is how I left it otherwise I would be playin catch the flywheel...and nobody wants to play that game.

Let me know your results with the new clutch...maybe I could end up with a new one if your results are good.
