Manual valve body and code 1763

I have a full manual valve body. I have a 1763(soft code no light) but it is not going into limp mode. The way i understand, it cant go into limp mode because i do the shifting.
Should i replace the gps and switch and put the resistor in ?

Nevermind, in my trans application the gps is a non function part.
