I was out playing with my truck this weekend. Climbing hills out in a field while doing some drag racing out there and so on. My edge chip was not working at the time and the truck will still run fine but not smoke much. So I decided to unplug the map sensor because I've heard if you do it will smoke more and oh boy did it smoke a ton more. It also consumed alot of fuel to but truck still seemed to run real good. But what I want to know is what are the pros and cons of having it un plugged. Is there any benefits at all having it unplugged.

Anybody? I would like to know more info on what the map sensor really does. I would not recommend keeping it unplugged for a long period of time. Just for a short term thing. It just seemed to fuel harder than my drag comp by the cloud of smoke it would leave.

Without it plugged in I believe the ECM thinks the turbo is making full boost all the time, so it fuels 100%. Might be wrong though...sonds like it would be better to have it plugged in though...

Leave it plugged in, too much fuel down low will hurt how much power you can make, not to mention it's not real good for the pump to work that hard at all times.
