Any1 have any experience with Master Power turbos?

Feedback please...

Ben

Put one on my 04 and blew it apart in 24 hours. They gave me a new one and put it on my 99 and well im just not happy with it. I think my stocker made more power and spooled allot quicker.

saw a 76mm Master Power under a 62mm in a twins set up separate the turbine wheel from the shaft and throw the turbine wheel out the exhaust

Never heard of em'

ON EDIT:

Did some looking on the interweb... you get what you pay for.

"you get what you pay for" - ditto. Same for XS Power turbos.

chinese junk

I'm pretty sure they come from Brazil...

The turbo mustang guys seem to have had pretty good luck with them on gasoline applications. I was kind of interested in trying one on a Cummins, but I haven't had the need to as of yet. I probably won't either after hearing some of the stuff here from people who have tried.

According to my master power calculator:blahblah1: it was the oil and fire coming out of the stack that actualy caused the turbine wheel to fall off.:ft:

Probably don't spin quite as fast on a stang as they would on a Cummins.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. I haven't personally run one, but I have several friends who have run them with good success in gas turbo applications. The load and shaft speed at the high boost pressures that you would want to run on a Cummins is probably what does them in.

I used to be a moderator on turbomustangs/turboforums

when they first hit the scene they were total junk... they're still junk in my eyes. as stated above, we tend to push these things harder than the gasser boys do. I wouldn't waste my time with one of those things

When mine came apart Thats exactly what happened the exhaust turbine broke off and sent it out the exhaust pipe.

the reason why there going bad when put on a diesel is that we are pushing way more boost and drive pressure than a gasser would ever be able to do, and thats way to much for a weak turbo

That pretty much sums up my original thoughts on those, just thought id see what others had to say. I have a friend thats running them on a twin'd mustang and hes had good luck with em.

Thanks for the feedback guys....
