I just did a NV4500 swap in my truck. The hydraulics that came with the Clutch Is adjustable on the end that slips on the clutch pedal, it Does not thread into the Master Cylinder. I am having a hell of a time getting this master to mount on the fire wall. When i Think i got it in good and tight, I have to pull the clutch pedal as far up as I can (bottom out on hood release lever) to get the master cylinder rod to hook onto it. then as soon as I press in the clutch I get about 1/32 of an inch down and it pops out of the fire wall. Start over...Does it again.....

Why do I have to pull the pedal so far up....Can this hyd. set be no good?

I bought a master cyl for a 12v and it seemed to go in the firewall fairly well, but unfortunatly at Napa you cannot buy a complete pre-charged set, and I hear they damn near impossible to bleed so idk why their sold seperatly.

Any help...greatly appreciated.

the brackets i have seen that come with the mc are bolted to the firewall with two studs. you slip the mc into this bracket and turn it maybe 1/4 to lock it into the bracket. if i was guessing the mc isnt locked all the way into the bracket or the tabs are broke of the mc. hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for the help. But this master does not bolt to the firewall. Its just a twist in.....way to go design team!!!!!

I got a NEW set from Valair on friday, I Twisted it in good N tight, I had to end up using the rod for a G56 for the proper pedal height.(3/4" shorter than 2nd gen). all seemed well until i got half way down with the pedal and it Snapped out of the firewall.....Hard...

It broke a piece off of one of the tooth's off and now it wont go tight again in the firewall.

I did notice the rod does not have a straite shot into the M/C, Instead it came in from an upward angle, So i took out the pedal and drilled a new hole lower and fastened up a new pin for the M/C rod to hook on so now it will go in Straite, but I cannot test this experiment because the master wont even go in the wall. Any one got input?

a pic of how yours looks from under the dash?
Anyone rig up something to bolt it to the firewall?

I just got upgraded hydraulics for my truck from Valair and I didn't have any problems at all with installing it or getting my pedal height right.........

As far as bolting to the firewall, did the original one have a bracket thingy on it that bolted to the firewall? (2 bolts that required a 15mm wiggle socket and a whole lot of cussing to get off) That was the only thing that gave me a bit of trouble because I had it all in place on the truck when I realized you have to re-use the piece with the bolts in it. If you still need pics, send me a pm and I'll snap a couple tomorrow.

I've had more problems with this than anyother thing i've done. The set that came with this Tranny I had problems with the length of the rod. And due to it breaking out of the firewall so much the teeth got worn down to nubs and wont even get snug in there.

The new set I used the rod for a G56 for the pedal height And the m/s went in tight. But since that rod was not a "straight" shot in there, I'm betting thats why it presses the m/s out. And it broke the tooth on the m/s BEFORE i could make a new pin on the pedal to make the rod go in straite.

With this chipped tooth, I can now only get the m/s in snug, but i can easily knock it out with my hand from the otherside.

that sucks. If you still want pics of mine installed let me know, they might help a lil.
