mcbee haedgaskets

they make replacemet parts and gaskets for diesels. talked to a guy named jim koch he said he uses there gaskets in his pullers with no falures. also no orings or fire rings in those engines runs a 3.25 turbo.

I'm sure they would be ok for stock and for small power increases but most guys do not drop compression when going after 500-600hp. It takes a good gasket to hold the cylinder pressure.

jim told me the fire ring in gasket is larger in dia than cummins. said he's made 904 hp on that gasket. i think he told me fire ring was 1/4 inch

Ok, fire ring is bigger, seems this would make it more prone to leak coolant. $.02

Larger in diamter or larger in section width, I'd expect clamping PSI to be less... with concomitant sealing ability.

Enterprise Engine said that the Interstate-McBee gaskets are the only ones they use in ALL the engines they build.
Good enough for me.

Also a ENTIRE engine gasket kit is only a couple bucks more than one Cummins headgasket gasket.

Interesting. Jim is a cool guy. One of my favorites as a matter of fact.

I sell the Mcbee line as an aftermarket choice, but I have not had luck with the HG. $.02

Good to know Jeff, I talked with Enterprise and they said they use them all the time without failure.
Thing is, I value your opinion more.
