I would like to know what everyone is using for building their piping on their twins, also the pro's and con's of each.

I know that some guys just use exhuast tubing, and other use sched stuff. What is best, easiest, reasons

Thanks

Kevin

IMO using stainless or aluminum over exhaust pipe steel is just for looks, aluminum would save a little weight but not enough to matter I would think. I am just going to use aluminized exhuast pipe on mine.

I used sch 40 pipe for my hot pipe (I think it was only like 3" or so) and 4" 16 gauge aluminum for the cold pipe on my old first gen. I'd think that the hotpipe sees more abuse from heat and pressure than the cold side, so I built it with heavier stuff than exhaust pipe.

"scatch and dent" / "misperfection" exhaust for cold/intake pipe (thanks firepunk)...saved me a lot of money

Sorry should have been more clear on what I was saying,, (typical of me,, LOL) this would be after the turbo to the IC,

I use exhaust pipe, 90s and 45s are mandrel bent and cost under $20ea.

316l Sch. 10 Stainless steel. on all I/C and intermediate piping. Free because it was leftover stock from a pasteurization plant job.

Exhaust pipe is cheap and easy, but ebay has plenty of intercooler pipe kits that have aluminum pipe in them for reasonable prices if you want something that is a bit "cooler" looking than the old standby.

I need to do some custom stuff,, LOL, and I am not a great welder in the begining, let alone if I was to try aluminum,
