I need to know what the metric tire size would be to a 33x10.50-17. I amd planning on running Interco Truxxus 33 12.5 17 on the front, and I have a set of 1.5" spacers on the way for the rear dualls. If its an odd ball size, what kind of all terrains are there in that size.

Thanks,
Bragg.

lt265/75r17 would be 32.9 inches tall 10.6 inches wide, which is as close as your gonna get, but i don't know how many people make tires in that size

I know toyo makes an a/t in that size

I see, I thought the bigger number was the diameter and the smaller was width. Guess I have it all messed up....thats why the metric system sucks! LOL

yeah things were a lot easier, and better imho when everything was standard ex: 33x12.50r15

YYY/ZZRXX

YYY is the width of the tire in mm
ZZ is the aspect ratio in percent YYY*(ZZ/100)
XX is rim diameter

So to get your height
take 2*(YYY*(ZZ/100))/25.4 + XX

265/75R16
2*(265*(75/100))/25.4=15.65 inches

15.65+16=31.65 inches.

Good thing I'm good at math, that could really confuse a lesser mind. LOL

I would think a 285-75-16 would be closest in actual size. Or a 255-85-16 is the same height as a 285-75, just an inch narrower.

I think the 285/70R17's on my 95 work out to be just under 33" tall when mounted up. Width I'm not sure of, maybe 10"? I would say a 285/70 would work for you pretty good.

ON EDIT: according to the formula given already, they work out to be 32.7 inches tall.

yes i think the 285/70 would be close on height, but aren't 285's roughly 11.5 inches wide. The 265's are closer on width, but you would have to go to a 75 series aspect ratio to get the height outta them. However a 285/70r17 is probably a more common size, hence easier to get/more choices in tread

Thanks guys. Theguy that I am getting wheel spacers from said that I should be able to go up to a 12.5 tire in the back, but I do not know how well the stock rims will accept that wide of a tire.

What's the width on the dually wheels compared to a single rear wheel? I have the 285's mounted on stock 04 wheels, if that helps at all.

Yes that just solved my case. I am going with Toyo Open Country AT's 285/70 17's in the rear and Interco Truxxus 33x12.5-17's on a set of Jesse James Lawless 8's 17x9's up front as well. Should look pretty killer. Again thanks for the help.

I would watch running the trxus tires on the road as the leading edges wear very quickly and then they loose a lot of their competitive edge pulling the sled. Why are you running two different kinds of tires on the truck?

Mostly because of the load ratings. and because I do not want to run that wide of a tire in the back. 33x12.5 is the smallest you can get in a 17 in the Interco's. I plan on hauling withthe truck too and the oprn country's are the closest thing to the size I want with the load rating I need.
