Ok, I got rid of my 95 12v which had some mild pump work done by sheid with a stock charger, and I never drove it that easy and still pulled in the 18-19 mpg range with no highway driving at all. It definately smoked alot and I enjoyed making it do so.

Are the 24v trucks that much worse on mileage? I see posts of people with different set-ups and their mileage is hardly ever above 16ish. Are these people just way over fueling or is the 12v the way to go for better efficiency??

I am not expecting 35 mpg, but to be able to keep it around 20 would be nice and definitely what I am going for in the new truck. (99 2500 5sp sport)

it really depends on alot four wheel drive, what you have done to it, what gear ratio what tranny you run. Tell us more about the one your driving and we can compare better

95 --> 2500 4x4 5sp 4.10s

99 --> 2500 4x4 5sp 3.55s

the 99 is the new one in question about mileage

Everything stock that thing should get around 20. Mileage Max and RV 275 and other goodies to help it breath you should see 22-23 MPG @ 55MPH if you keep your foot out of it.

I just picked up a 01 dodge with automatic and 3.55 gears. Just went and checked my mileage on it for the first time tonite. I got 16.5 avg with it. That is with around 300 miles of freeway and 200 miles of stop and go. I made it 518 miles on 31.4 gallons. I am looking to up that average somehow though. This truck is also completly stock. It is also a 4x4.

The most common ways to increase mileage are a timing box with the SO motors and RV275 or a small injector with HO motors.

I get 22+ and I usually get 18-19 pulling me jetsled to the rivers.

with my truck i have 100s II HRVP44 quad boost fooler i average 18mpg most the time i averaged 16.7mpgs at 80mph on the way to ts. that 285s and 4.10s i think i need to get a cheap timing only box to help with mileage and egts what do you think would be good for timing only something like a edge ez
