mileage question

I have an 03 with the HO engine and am only getting around 18mpg empty on the hwy and around 14 or 15 loaded. Is this normal or should I be getting more. When it was new I was getting 21 or 22 on the hwy empty and not even broke in yet. Is there something I should get looked at or is this the best I can get without chipping it. Everything is bone stock still it is a 3500 SB 4x4 with 373 rear end. Thanks.

Check/change filters and run some type of cleaner additive, if the fuel and air are stopped up that will hurt mileage as will dirty injector tips.

Well I think my problem maybe solved. I have had it in a few times and they have changed the injectors and the fuel pump actuator. Time will tell but I think it maybe done.
