Anyone run it in their trucks? Any first had feed back? I live in Florida and my trucks rarely if ever see cold weather and I have thought about doing oil sampleing to see how long it will last in my trucks since I don't run them much...

I can get really good deals on 5 quarts of it at work with a Mobil 1 5 micron nominal/18 micron absolute filter for 27.20.

For $87.30 out the door I can get 3 Mobil 1 oil filters and 15 Gallons of Synthetic 5W-40 oil. If I work the system right I can probably get it cheaper than that...

I run Brad Penn 10W-30 and I thought that was odd...Never heard of 5W-40 in our trucks.

I sell the hell out of this stuff and it's what we use in everything in the shop

I'm glad to hear you haven't had any problems with the 5W-40, I don't think any of the top shelf brand's are any worse than others and I have used Mobil 1 in alot of race engines and other stuff and I was reading on Yellowbullet.com that some guy's are using the 5W-40 Mobil in their twin turbo 10.5 outlaw cars, so I figure my 200 horsepower 5.9 Cummins can't be any harder on it than a 4 second hail mary pass down the drag strip with a couple thousand horsepower car...

yeah no doubt. After i posted that i realized it had nothing to do with your original post, so my bad. Damn a.d.d. lmao. Anyhow, i think you'd be fine running it. With the additional cooling effect of the synthetic along with the longer interval changes I can't help but to think it would be beneficial. Maybe someone else has run it and will chime in.

No, your fine, it's close enough to the right information I will use it. I don't drive my trucks much anymore and they set alot and I think the synthetic will be alot easier on them on start up. I know all the fan boy's preach Fleetguard filters but from what I'm reading the normal FG's are looser than the Mobil 1's...

Me and my father have used it for 15+yrs or so. We only stopped cause it became a Pita to find it.

I have ran 5w-40 in my 24v for the last 103k. I just had an oil analysis done when I changed the oil last (5k on oil), and everything is immaculate. Report said I could have ran the oil longer if I wanted to. 60-70% town/city driving, 30% highway.
