And the man speaks! By the sounds of it if you are looking for it for next season, you might as well get out your welder and start tackin one together.

Yes, we do run a Barker Machine Chassis as did Chris Watson. You have to keep in mind that you are starting from scratch when you make this step. Everything has to then be custom made to fit your application ie. body, axles, etc. It is a very long process and does not happen over the course of a couple months. Do some research and talk to some of the long time pullers who have had to endure this process upon making your decision it would be well worth the time so that you know all the obstacles that you will need to overcome to complete the project.

Already got pictures, but its a regular cab stock frame truck. To win your going to need a long tube truck.

Alright, Lets talk wheel base now seeing you brought up tuck length! I am to the point that I might just head this direction next year with my truck and figure I have two choices....cut up my crew-cab GMC body and keep my wheel base of 172" or sell the truck and start fresh and go dodge with the 156" WB. If I could get mine light enough that I can hang 1500+ Lbs out front which I know I could I would think that extra 14" would come as a major advantage... My brother is a welder/fabricator and could build my a frame no problem....

Joe,

We are talking about all out Mod pulling trucks here, a 1400 hp. motor is going to twist a stock frame all around and the short wheel base is going to make setup all that much tougher. Why go at something full bore if your going to start handicapped?

Ryan,

NTPA and PPL both have wheelbase limits less than the 172 that you have. Not that you plan on running with them but why limit where you can run?

Thats the thing...honestly why set a wheelbase limit at less than 172" when trucks come out of the factory longer than 156" or what the NTPA and PPL have set...Im not saying I will ever run Mod or anything but 99% of these trucks are built with some sort of originality in them be it paint, tilt body or something...I would just want to be the only guy running a Cummins in a 88-98 style Chevy which just so happens to be a crew-cab dually. Not really fair for someone that already has a truck for it. If you look at most of the gasser 4x4 Mods they have there's set at 133" which would be a reg-cab long box but with the diesels where the class is 8000lbs...can't see why you couldn't at lease run something that came stock out of the factory at that length...its not like I have 2' of Chanel stretching the frame out.
