What modifications need to be done to a 12 valve head gasket to use it on a 24 valve. I know there are companies that sell the modified gaskets but I see no reason to pay someone for something that I can do myself. Plus I have a couple of new 12 valve gaskets here.

There are some water ports to modify. Align the 12 to the 24 and you will see the difference.

The best way to do this is to take both gaskets to a good metal shop that has the proper tools and have them punch the 12v gasket out to fit the 24v. Some I have known have just drilled out the holes but this has lead to some issues later on.

The initial piece is going to cost the most. Basically when I had the program setup I would have been selling them at a loss. By doing 25 at a time the cost could be brought down though. So to do 1 piece will probably cost you more than just buying a finished product.

Sealing issues, of water and oil?

I guess I need to try and find my old 24 valve gasket and compare it to the 12 valver, it will probably make more sense to me if I see it.

When I did mine i just laid the 12v on top of the 24v and drilled it. When ur done make sure that there aren't any lose pieces of silicone. I had a little piece of silicone fall down in the motor and clog a oil squirt, piston got hot scored cylinder wall, then had to rebuild the motor.

I have a hand punch set that may work for that. It would be better than drilling.
