Looks like I blew a HG last night I am pressurizing the radiator under acceleration and I have what looks like oil in mixed in with the antifreeze. Truck still sounds good just blew antifreeze out the cap when I came out of the hole. I am at 38 on the timing Oringed and 12mm ARP.

I run 35 with a .020 gasket, Orings, And stock bolts. Been running for 4 years. 60-70 psi and N2O.

I'm wondering if I need to change the wire I had the head off 4 times since last year. I hope it's just a head gasket and not something cracked in the head or block. But who knows untill I tear it off.

I un-knowlingly ran 42 deg. in a street truck for around six months with o-rings and 12mm it held suprisingly. However my bowels nearly didn't two days ago when we decided to check the timing, it's back down to a conservative 23 deg now.

let me know what you find

Here is what I got the head pressure checked good and the ring protrusion is .006 but the gasket it self is falling apart. I used a gasket out of a rebuild kit and it was a 2 piece steel. I am hopeing that the gasket was the problem I went back to cummins and got a one piece oem. I pulled the other one apart just to see what was in it see pics. Not very good construction if you ask me.

On another note the spray pattern was out of the bowl at 38 with a 152 degree industrial piston.

.006 is about half of what I would recomend for a mild street engine. I usually run .012-.018 depending on the application.

You need new wire..... I like the BHJ brand SS wire or inconel wire with .012-.016 protrusion.
