mounting alternator where A/C compressor was

Has anyone moved their alternator down to the A/C compressor location? I want to move mine down to make room for turbo plumbing.
 
I was pondering the same exact thing before i decided to sell the whole truck. My truck was basically a dedicated puller and wouldnt get driven much anymore so i wasnt worried about no ac.

Unless you are driving in a lake it shouldnt get any more water on it then it would on top. Alot of "cars" have the alt mounted down low from the factory so i wouldnt be so worried about it.
 
jeeps are down on the bottom, so are hondas, as well as quite a few others. i've had my toyota 4x4 under 6ft of water and it kept going.
