Was trying to find a 12valve 4x4 for a beater/work truck but stumbled across a 98.5 24v 4x4 with 148k on it. The truck has brand new BFG MT's on it body is a little rough but the guy wants 4500 for it. I have not drove it yet will do probably Wednesday.

I was curious what type of mpg are the 24v getting stock.

Thanks,
Eric

Trans? Rear end?

16 would probably be a safe ballpark.

Make sure you figure in gallons of coolant per mile if it's a 53 block. LOL

Damn forgot about the 53 block. Truck is an auto not sure on rear end yet will check on Wed.

I used to get around 20-21 in the hwy and 18-19 in city and that was with a HO engine. I would say that you should get around 16-19 either with city or hwy driving.

I get 13.x with 3.55's and 33's. Around town. bone bone stock.

I averaged around 16/18 with an EZ, intake, and exhaust. One of my buddies took it to school in Kansas for a month or so when his truck was in the shop, he said he was getting 21 there and back on the highway. SOVP, 265's, 3.55's, NV4500. single cab 4x4.

Edge EZ or similar such as the TS MVP you should be able to see 19ish. I can get 19 all day long at my normal speeds, got stuck at 65 and below for a tank and got 22...I was not happy, to friggin slow!

mine with mach 1.6's adr on PL01, auto, 3.55 being really nice on a trip to Indiana i got 23, generally around town is in the 14s and mix is around 18

when i bought my 2000 with 340,000 miles it was stock except a rebuilt trans with a double disk Midwest converter and he got 18-19 mpg with 4:10 rear end.

Thanks for the replies. Now I need to find out about the 53 block and decided if I want to take a chance on it.

I was getting 21 when I was traveling 100 highway miles to work. Now that I'm 12 miles away I'm down to 14.5-15. Doesn't help 6 out of the 12 miles are city driving. Bone stock I was getting 14-16. Automatic with 265 tires

The truck in my sig averaged about17.5-18 yesterday from Nashville to st. Louis, including stop and go through both cities. 3.55 gears on pizza cutter tires

Ummm...
