MSDPA strongly recommends every vehicle having a fire extinguisher.
Drive trains are required to have restraints to prevent parts from exiting under vehicle. Air/Fuel shut offs are not required, but strongly recommended.
General Rules
Suspension
•Diesel Class 1 - full working towing suspension.
•Diesel Class 2 & 3 - minimum of 1" of travel and removable suspension stops
•Diesel Class 4 - Anything goes
Hitch -The hitch must be constructed of solid material that is properly attached and braced. The hooking point must be at least 44 inches rearward from the centerline of rear axle. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. The hitch height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop. No pintle hooks are allowed.
Tires - DOT approved tires are required for all classes. Cut tires are only permitted in the Open Modified class.
Ballast (Weights)-Hanging weight is prohibited in classes 1 & 2. Adding weight to meet weight requirements must be securely fastened to (bumper to bumper) or within the vehicle. No weight should be physically moved by hand.
The use of hanging weights are only permitted in classes 3 & 4. Weight may not exceed 60" past the center line of the front axle. Hanging weight must be securely fastened to the weight bar.
Exhaust must exit behind the cab in all classes except Class 4(Open Modified Diesel).
All classes are limited to a 12,500 GVW or smaller truck. Any vehicle that exceeds the weight requirements and wishes to pull, may do so as an exhibition pull only. The hook fee still applies and no monetary prize will be given.
A minimum of 5 trucks to make a class. If 5 trucks are not registered you will be given the opportunity to move up to the next class or receive your money back. This will be determined before the pull begins.
If your vehicle is registered to pull more than one time in a class, the vehicle is only paid for one place.
Once pulling fee has been paid, you are only allowed to get your money back of you break before you hook. If you have paid to pull in multiple classes and you have pulled in at least one class, you will not receive any money back.
You can receive money back if you choose not to pull for any reason before the pull begins, however you may be asked to load and move your pulling equipment out of the pit area.
Pulling order will be a random listing done as the driver enters the track before the pull. If you decide to pull in an additional class after the pull has started, you will be added last in the pulling order.
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult in pit area at all times.
All final decisions rest with the decisions of the MSDP tech staff.
Positions
All persons on the MSDP staff will be responsible for all aspects of the pull. In the event there is an issue to be discussed, there will be three staff members present to make a decision.
Disqualifications
Any portion of any wheel crossing or touching the boundary lines while pulling is grounds for disqualification.
Disregard of flagman or any official is grounds for disqualification
Any visibly excessive leakage of fluids on the track, loss of ballast or non-secured items from vehicle while under green flag is grounds for disqualification.
Miscellaneous
Due to time constraints, there will no longer be pull-offs, but rather a floating finish line.
The first puller of each class has the option to repull. If you opt to repull, you must notify the flagman before exiting the track. Only the repull distance is accepted for palcement.
All pullers who do not reach the 75ft mark have the option to repull; If you opt to repull, you will be backed up at that time by the sled to repull. Only the repull distance is accepted for palcement.
In order to have any input to the operation of a MSDPA truck pull, you must be a paid member.
If you outpull someone in a class by 20ft, you will be asked to moved up to the next class.
No emptying of water or any fluids in the pit area
