it was in the mid 20's last night, no block heater, by the time i went out to start this morning it was above freezing but motor was still cold.

sorry for the shaking, thats due to the camera sitting on the tool box instead of somewhere stationary.

That starts good. Maybe when the weather warms up you can slip some more timing in there.

i would but i am at the limit of off the shelf vp44 injectors for spraying in the bowl.

That sounds like mine but mine smokes a whole lot more and lopes pretty good till its warm. One of these days I'll get the grid heaters fixed.

Sounded like mine, but with that .020" headgasket I got it took longer start, shook pretty violently and smoked hella white for a while.

i have a .020 over head gasket too, but being an HO motor my compression ratio was higher to begin with. took it out and drove it about 30 miles again tonight...god i love this thing. driving smoke free is awesome, especially knowing that with a pivot of my right foot i can wake the beast up at any time. took one of my import buddies for a ride tonight, when i rolled into it he giggled like a kid, he couldnt believe it. its getting easier to drive except when i hit really bumpy roads then it gets a little wild.

Started a little better than my '96 did without the heater or grids at 0 degrees. 413,000 mile engine with .010" over HG.

if it was in the teens or colder with no block heater i doubt it would start at all without some help.

Thats almost as bad as mine on any morning that its 30 degs or lower. If it gets in the mid teens its a real pain and anything below 10 you might as well forget it. Thats also no grid or block heater and only 1 battery so im limited on how much time i have to get it started
