Maybe it just seems like this since I'm driving it up to Alaska in a couple month, I dunno.
First I break my output shaft while trying to drag race. Well no big deal, got it fixed.
At the same time though, I spring an antifreeze leak. I'm not sure why now all of a sudden?
I installed the coolant improver kit and it has you T into the heater return line. Well when I removed the rubber hose, I bent the copper heater core tube a bit.
Anyhow it's been fine all this summer, but now starts to leak. I put a new piece of hose and it didn't help. It went from a small leak to a pretty bad one. The worst part is that it dripped antifreeze all over my nice brandnew downpipe making nasty brown burnt stuff all over it. YUK!
To make matters worse, my trans was feeling a bit weird and the shifter didn't feel quite right when putting it into park. It just felt like it wasn't shifting quite the same.
Well I realize that the TV cable lever on the trans isn't hooked up anymore. The cable is detached and the level is off of the trans too. It was just hanging by the spring!
It's interesting because when I replaced the output shaft I noticed that the lever was loose and I tightened it. Somehow it loosened back up and fell off. Dunno WTH is going on there?
That same day, I found a place that thad diesel for $2.65/gal ($1 cheaper than everywhere else) so I filled up my aux tank.
Well then I find out that my aux tank setup has some bugs I guess cause my main tank starts to leak at the overflow. It's worked fine for close to a year, though I haven't used it too much, but for whatever reason, not anymore.
Oh, also found that Schaeffer synthetic oil doesn't have limited slip additive... so I have to add some. Feels like I have a welded diff right now :hehe: Minor thing there though.
To add insult to injury, my dog scratched the hell out of the bed this weekend too.
I went to put him in the back and I had one of "those moments" where it made sense at the time. Instead of lowering the tailgate, I tried to put him over the bed rail.
Problem is my truck is pretty tall, dog is ~65lbs, and he don't like being carried too much. So he stuck his front paw out to kinda help get in but ran it down the side of my bed about 6". You can only imagine the lovely gouges I have now in the already crappy Dodge paint. :bang
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother! :hehe:
