I cant seem to win,, got my boost leaks all figured out (I hope) now I have a different problem,, truck was running fine,, then started to not want to come down to idle, it would stall, then it got worse and worse,, now it wont even start. Would old fuel cause something like this? I have a half a tank of fuel that is a year old... from when it broke down,,, I am going to drain it tomorrow and put in some new stuff,,,, do you think that this will help?

Also,, I have dual cp3's and no grid heater, when I turn on the key there is a clicking noise coming from the area around the cp3's I dont remember that being there before,, anyone seen that before?

Kevin

my truck makes the same clicking noise -- it might be the grid heater relays if you left those in place, but they are on the other side of the engine compartment. Come to think of it, my truck makes a constant ticking sound sometimes too -- like when you turn the key on without starting it. What is your rail pressure doing when all of this happens?

Lots of codes,, I dont have a lot of stuff hooked up. Could be injectors making that sound,, right area. No grid heaters or relays.

So you did have it running, but it was idling high? Then shut off and won't run??

Lloyd, it was running, good,, then got progressively worse... then it started stalling out when I would let off the gas when I took it for a test drive,, then the next test drive it would quite everytime I would take my foot off,,, but always restart,, then the last test drive it was missing and fumbling around the whole drive,, then it quit and hastnt restarted since

Will,, I have removed, the fan, fuel filter canister, winsheild washer tank, and a few other things. All of these things other than the ww tank cause codes, but not performance loss

Whats rp while cranking?

Clicking noise is the fca's if its a quiet clicking.

Could be rail sensor, is there any new codes that do not pertain to the ones from the missing stuff.

Rail pressure seemed to be good, 5000 + during cranking. 15 to 25k during road trip.

Do you think that old (bad) fuel could cause this?

No I havent,, I will try that though,, would that cause it to get progressively worse?

If the gauge is taking a dump, yes. Besides, it is an easy spot to start

New update, did what Lloyd said to do,, actually managed to get truck to fire,, runs for about 1 second and then dies again... I am almost starting to lean towards the fass,, I am going to pull a line off tonight and see if it is pumping

after a bunch of testing, it is definately the fass.... unhooked the feed to one of the cp3's ran the hose into a pop bottle, ran the fass for 30 secs or so,, and only got a 1/4 of the bottle full. I can pee hard than the fuel came out....

Try draining your tank and replace the filters. The fuel could be bad or have algae growing. If the filters are plugged it will not flow.

Joe

Ill try that,, anyone know what the cross is for the filters on a fass to another brand?
