Mystery soot ?

Today I ripped my truck apart and when I took the head off I saw what I figured had happened, # 5 melted. But what I didn't expect to see is a pile of fluffy looking soot covering the # 4 piston. Has anyone else come across this? What would cause this, maybe a bad injector?

Mostly stock 215 truck; 100 plate, Super B special turbo, 60lbs springs, 4k GSK, few tweaks to afc, otherwise stock engine. The truck was stuck in the snow and mud when this happend, driver was incredibly drunk and kept it to floor until it popped.
