I've been on the prowl for another dana 80 SRW axle. The idiot who owned it before me must have cross threaded the huge nut on the end of the axle when putting new bearings in. When we went to take the nut off it pulled all the threads with it. So now im in search for a spindle assembly for a dana 80 SRW.

Anyone know where there is a wrecked 5 speed truck with a dana 80 that wouldn't mind cutting off the end of the axle to help a poor fella out?
The rear end is getting shortened anyway so splicing in a new spindle assembly isn't a problem. Just finding one that's been wrecked or one that ins't trying to sell you the complete assembly has been hard.

Did the 94-02 2500 5speed V-10 come with dana 80's? There is one at a local junkyard but they are not sure what axle it has. Before I make the 45 minute trip I kinda wanted to get an idea of what it might have?

I know where there's one that has the pass side housing bent.... It's in Colorado though...

And yes v-10's had 80's too... v-10's and Cummins had same axles.

That might be good news both ways. If its not to much trouble see how much whomever owns that one in colorado might want for a good end?

Look on this website....

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Just a quick search I just made showed at least 15 Disc Brake Dana 80's within a 8 hour drive of your zip code and 1 less than 2 hours away at CarGuts.com in Blacksburg,SC......Andy

I thought the D70 and SRW D80 used the same spindle? If you are cutting it off, a D70 could work too then.

Something to look into. The tube on my SRW D80 narrows before the brake drum bracket, whereas my DRW D80 stays the same diameter the whole way.

Im aware that a DRW dana 80 won't work....tried that and found out the hard way.

Still looking for one? A place about 60 miles away said they had one. So I took off of work early today head out there and they made a mistake it was sold a couple weeks ago.:bang

I hired a guy in the albany, NY area to replace a spindle on a F450 super duty , he has a mobile repair business. He did it on the truck, in the parking lot, worked out great, he claims to do it roadside on big trucks if needed. I know he buys the part and re-sells it with the service, so someone makes, sells the spindle seperately. This was 3 or 4 years ago; I don't remember the name, I'll make a couple calls in the morning, maybe help you out.
