I will get this out of the way first. I am stupid!!!:bang

I am working on my 4 cylinder and everything is installed except the oil drain for my primary turbo. I had planned on installing the oil drain in the oil pan but when I punched a small hole, and I mean very small, I got a little bit of oil seeping out even with the truck tilted on one side. I am very sure that when I sit the truck back to level oil will cover most of the hole for the -10 drain line.

My question is, will it be ok to install the oil drain if the hole is half covered in oil?
Will it be ok if the hole is fully covered in oil? I dont think thats a good idea but you guys know more about this than me.

I dont think the drain hole in the pan will be completely covered in oil just half of it, I cant go any higher in the oil pan as it is.

Thanks
Randy

The oil might run up the drain tube slightly but it shouldn't hurt drainage. The level in the turbo drain and the level in the pan should be the same at all times unless you have too much blow-by and then it can block the turbo from draining.

you have 10 qts in the pan now, 1 in the filter, when its running you prolly have 5-6 in the pan at anyone time, so its going to be alot lower.

This was my thinking as well. I just needed some confirmation I wasnt crazy and going to kill a turbo. I guess I have been up for way too long working on this thing.

Thanks guys.
