just put a new vp44 on my truck and lift pump pimmed it started and ran awesome made it about ten miles it died and cant get it to start now bled the the fuel system again there are no codes in the computer the lift pump is making 17psi the truck has a edge comp box on it but its been truned off i never tryed it on this pump if i crack the injector lines fuel sprays out but cant get it to light can any one help:nail:

I double checked all the connections everything is plugged in good there's fuel at the injectors but now I have a code it's coming up P1693

Are you getting the codes by the key or a scanner? P1693 is a companion code and means there are other codes stored in the ecm or pcm. Completely remove the edge from the truck, not just turning it off. Also, make sure the key is still in the keyway on the shaft. What year?

I have the edge completely unhooked I'm still getting the same code on the scanner The keyway is still lined up on the pump I am using a snap on scanner

Did you remove all the wiring from the edge to the truck and put it back to stock? Check all fuses/relays. Does the key in the on position power the fuel pump and you have fuel pressure? If you have good batteries, good grounds, fuel pressure and it is cranking, then you probably have an ecm issue. Why did you change the VP44 to begin with?

The tach is reading. RPM I'm getting about 180 rpm well cranking my fuel Pressure is 18 PSI. I cleaned my battery posts all the grounds around the truck that I could find the ground on the ECM Made sure the batteries are fully charged If I try to clear the code with the scanner it just pops right back up immediately I have the edge completely taken out of the truck The reason I switch the pump I was driving and truck just died code P1688 came up Once I put the new injection pump on the truck ran perfect I went about 10 miles down the road and the truck just shut off I pulled it home tried to bleed it there was lots of fuel at the injectors check for codes was no codes. came out the next morning tried to start it. Didn't start check for codes again and that p1693 came up

A pump builder I use said that the majority of reman vp failures that occur within a year happened within 20 miles. Who knows if its true but its something to think about. You could standalone the pump and that would rule out any ecm or pcm issues.

Its impossible to have just the 1693 code. Try a different scanner such as a smarty. There's some other code that apparently snapon can't read.
