need help..what turbo is this??

for all you turbo gooroos on here, i need some help! a buddy of mine at work has this turbo sittin in the shop and has no use for, told me if itll work for me..i can have it. my truck still has the stock turbo on it so if this will work for me with my setup then great!.....he knows nothing about it other than he "thinks" its a garret, and by the looks of it i dont think its be installed on anything either..if anyone can reconize this thing or be able make sense of the markings on it i would appreciate it!

ive seen alot of garretts stamped "M24" but they usually say garrett also, might be an ebay knock off.

take the exhoust and compressor covers off and measure it.
