I hate to post something so petty but heres whats goin on..... dead pedal, or lazy as hell pedal..... 0122, 0236 codes.

I replaced tps with a timbo unit, voltage is normal at idle, with throttle it will ramp up until about 1.9v and go back to zero all the way to WOT.... both sensors are doing this, truck has 0 power

it cranks and idles just fine, just has no power, check engine light comes right back with these 2 codes... I assume it may be a vp, but these codes have nothing to do with that, thats why I am stumped

youy don't think there is any posibility of it being a bad ground? what an ass....

sure its a possbility.... but unlikely i think around here....

If I am reading it correct, you say the voltage ramps up and then falls off with no change in the position of the APPS? If that is the case I would check some grounds, otherwise it sounds like the internal power supply on the ECM is failing.

if I pin #3 on the apps harness, and press the thottle, voltage ramps normally to 1.9v then goes to nothing right past that point all the way to WOT

* I would also like to note, with cruise control set, truck runs fine, power is normal using CC buttons..... it makes no sense...

My fathers truck is currently throwing dead pedal with a blue chip pump. its not throwing any codes, apps is reading normal, grounds ect.

All I'm saying its I've seen them screw up and not throw VP codes before.

to add to the CFness, "PPUMP ITTTTT Brrrroooo!"

thats our planned fix LOL

Cruise on your 02 is independent of APPS, when my apps failed hours from home, i drove home on the "resume" button

i assume the cruise works through the ECM

If I could afford it right now, i would but...... I'm trying to move...:bang

My guess would be that it is not the VP since you are having an issue with the APPS more than anything. The VP does what it is told to do by the ECM, the APPS just tells the ECM what amount of throttle input the organic control device has requested. If it is running normal with the cruise, which is electronic on the 02's, that tells me either the APPS is bad or there is an issue on the ECM board. First thing I would do is get in touch with Timbo and see what he has to say, there should be a way to check his APPS unit off the truck to verify it is working correctly.

If the APPS is working correctly I would look to the ECM, sounds like a power supply on the board might be getting weak and not keeping up with the demand.

alright, I'll try to get in touch with him.... these problems started last week, so i picked up an apps.... the kicker is the 0236 map sensor voltage too high code.... both keep coming right back.... batts are unhooked right now, to recalibrate just to make sure, as I didnt do this the first time...

when it rains, it pours.....

I had an issue like this once.... Turned out to be the MAP sensor. It was reading atmospheric pressure but it never changed, regardless of engine running or not. Started and idled fine, just no power, and no codes. As far as the engine was concerned the turbo was doing nothing so it wouldn't fuel.

not saying this is it but it sure sounds like it... I didn't look into the codes you posted cause I am lazy, sorry.

I have seen two seperate issues where the heater grid relays were loose/shorted and caused a similar issue, but I don't believe this to be the case here.

I have also seen a bad fueling module ground, or a faulty MAP sensor cause what you describe, and as seeing the 0236 code, I am willing to bet that is the issue, and it is more common on the '02. The replacement sensor will be the smaller style as used in '01, but should come with an adapter.

Mine did all sorts of wonky $hit when the MAP took a poo... same with the cam sensor.
And a bad ground on the fuel box....

REPLACE ALL SENSORS!!!! LOL

I am chasing a similar situation with my 01. While driving the pedal will go dead. I have to pump it 3 times and it will pick back up like it was normally running. So I change the app sensor now while driving the truck will just shut off and takes 5 to 10 seconds of cranking before it will re fire 0 codes during any of this. I have even drove around with my MODIS hooked to it and its like you just turned the key off. All values go to 0
