need help with trans

i have a 98 12 valve auto left the house pulling my drag car the truck ran fine pulled fine no problems converter had a slight shutter to it just started doing it that day well stop to get some race gas left truck running got back n the truck to leave put it n gear to leave nothing just like it was n neutraul messed around with it goes n gear takes off does it again turn truk off start back take back off again done this all the way to the track it would shift 1 2 3 od converter goes to lock up like it goes back neutraul then gets worse 123 neutral 1 2 neutral now it justhas first fluid is fine not burnt not black is it converter or pump or electrial
 
" going to neutral" Is a sign it is low on fluid.
Is it at the full mark?
 
when i left the house it was on the full mark no leaks either.. speed sensor good works no trouble codes for it .. u can turn the truck off start it back wait a sec it will grab an go then u might have 1 2 thats it then might b just 1 then nothing or 1 2 3 then nothing its like the pump isnt working cuse the fluid b high up on the dip stick with the truck running..
 
hum im going to drop the pan an check this weekend im hoping b that simple lol... is there anyway to check the solienoids?? i found another trans an converter for 500 60 thousand on it after the rebuild

well thank u for the advice i checked the filter well cracked it open pulled the paper out an it was pretty dirty lot of clutch material but no metal or chunks.. adjusted the bands new filter took some paint strainers filter the old fluid down the road it goes so it lives to ride another day... im going to pull it anyway to have gone thru to make sure no major damage done
 
o ya just apiece of advice to any one an everyone that i have learned always check the simple things first lol
