Put a new head gasket on put the truck ,and now i can"t get her to start.Broke 2 lines open,fuel was coming out pump is running ,have smoke coming out, but will not START.]ANY IDEAS[
 
See if #1,#3,#4 & #5 lines are squirting.
Do you have good lift pump pressure with no air?
 
You might have to crack all of them. Mine was a SOB to start after I did that job.
 
i"ll try cranking again after i charge the batteries,i had to disconnect them to shut the pump off [fass95]it will just keep running
 
I'll ask the stupid question..got plenty of fuel in the tank?
 
Alright cracked all the lines one at a time ,got her started but very jumpie at idle ,noticed an exhaust leek at the down pipe,would cause the rough idel or is there more air in the lines??thanks 4 the help!!!
 
Mine runs pretty crappy the 1st 15 or 20 seconds then smooths out.
A downpipe leak won't hurt anything. Got any other leaks? Did you set the valve lash or mark your parts and put'em back exactly like they came off? I even marked my pushrods & rocker bridges I & E and bagged them with their correct number rocker assemblies.

I did mark and put everything back in the same places but i did not check valve lash
 
^ He is correct, you need to go through and check/adjust the valves anytime you have the head off.
 
did i have to grease the injectors and tubes before i put it back together,because i didn"t
 
thanks 4 all the help,all the air is out of the lines, and it runs and sounds better then when i bought it [THANKS AGAIN]
