Well trying to get this ready for the 2012 season and just looking for some advice on building a 2.6 competitive engine that i can go a whole season without having to tear it down its going in a 95 F-350 single wheel this is what I have on the engine turner right now it is a 91cummins block I have it tore down to the bare block the head should be back from the machine shop next week it was plained, valve job with back cut valves, fireringed, ported and polished,60lbs valve springs, and cut the intake pentum off for port and polish reasons and im going to put a log runner intake on it,have a haisley machine large inter. cam to slide in it,billet tappet cover still lacking a timing case and cover injection pump, injectors, turbo, pistons, studs, girdles ect..... trying to keep it budget friendly any sugestions would be great :blahblah1:

286110 pistons, 14mmmain studs, no girdle, rod bolts, s475 turbo setup however you need it, 5x18 injectors and either a good 12mm pump or a 13mm. I'm sure Kevin could set you up with a maxed 12mm that will do what you want. Competitive is all according to your bank account size which you know. but that will make enough to do what you want I'm sure.

Thanks tim, I got rid of the green truck last year and was on my way to building a cummins rat rod but going a season with out pulling gets under your skin alitte bit if you see everybody else on the track as your watching from the side lines so i got rid of that and going to build this rig hopefully for the 2012 season and hope to head back up to Illinois for a pull or two and I know what your sayin about the bank account thing the green truck always was pretty competitive but where was and always will be people out there with deeper pockets than me but o well i just want to go pullin i saw in a previous thread that you cut your own reliefs in your pistons i was wondering how you marked your valve postion on the tops of your pistons (clay, crushin blue?) I was going to do them myself unless i ordered a rebuild kit from terry and i was just let him do them, but thanks again

eating popcorn. I'm in the middle of my build. I may see something you've got planned that'll get me thinking….

lol.... budget took me four years and 20k in parts .. it hurts when you start add it all up .. good luck on the build...:)

no such thing as budget in my eyes…haha once you do one thing, you either have to do the other thing, or get sucked into doing it. I'm going on over a year and 17,000 bones not including labor for machining. I'd do better springs and p-rods as well. You gona run an air to water I/C?

Not to jack the thread, just curious, I picked up some mahle 286210 pistons per another's recommendation….bad choice? or can i get away with it? Mines gona be a 60/40, puller/street truck. 145* spray angle injectors and pump set at 26*'s timing too.

"Sounds like a good build, but some punctuation would be nice"

Hah! X2.

There was one comma.
