Hey all...

Hopefully somebody can help me out quickly.

Truck is strapped to a Mustang Dyno as I type this and we can't find a tach signal.

Ideas?

They don't have the tape for the balancer and the sensor to read it?

with out the photo sensor and reflective tape on the harmonic balancer there is really no place to pick up the signal. you can try the crank sensor which is down on the drivers side near the ecm kind of behind the power steering pump.

Hey guys...

Just got home.

Ended up doing the pulls without tach signal which means no torque numbers.

I'll probably wait next time till I can get on a dyno that does diesel stuff more often, the shop I used tonight was a buddy of mines and he mostly does gas stuff. So no optical pickup... They just use an inductive clamp on the gas stuff.

Don't think it would have mattered anyway... His Dyno was only good to 1000...

Did bring up some interesting findings though... I'll be starting another thread in the Dyno section tomorrow looking for input.

Thanks for the replies though!

It was good thing you didnt hook up tack, because his dyno would kick to free spin as soon as you hit 1000tq and you would have to let out. we dynoed my brothers truck on the same one i believe
