need tranny help asap

Hey everyone I got a 47re trans that I just fully rebuilt and just put it back in and it shifts great in all forward gears but for some reason I dont have a reverse, I did install a transgo shift kit fyi any help with this would be great. Thanks, Jared

LOL do some searching on transgo shift kit. Sounds like it is just the start of your problems. The bad part is the transgo shift kit may very well not allow the VB to be fixed.

For no reverse you could have an issue with the direct clutches in the OD unit, or the low/reverse band.

I did an air test on it and all the clutches are locking up great, I'm just kinda at a loss

Personally, I think most of the issues with the transgo kits are installer induced. Some of the modifications to the castings can be a pain to reverse, but I haven't had any issue doing it yet.

Personal opinion, I don't think this has anything to do with the transgo kit itself, but if everything else has air checked fine I'd try a different valve body and see what happens.
