haveing some problems lighting my 64/68/14 t4 borg warner my set up is 7*10 bd injectors and a edge drag comp fass 150 my edge is stuckon 5 by 5 dont know if its geting to much fuel on the low end or what it does not want to light untill 3rd gear and a boosted launch is out of the ? i can get it up 10psi and once i let of the brake and put it on the floor it takes forever for it to light and its really smokey

That turbo should spool easy... Check boost leaks like said above. If it has a waste gate make sure it's not opening prematurely

Ya definatley look at wastegate, it should spool at least in second gear, make sure the rod is connected to wastegate linkage and is adjusted properly

yes it is not gated i can get it up to 10 psi really eas but it just takes for ever to light from there

Well one other factor is he isnt use to driving a bigger charger. I think its getting too much fuel too fast, and putting out the fire. I havent got a chance to drive it and see what it does

You cant just dump ass loads of fuel on it and expect it to spool.

It doesn't really sound like he has that much fuel. The 7x0.010s are what? 100s or 150s?

almost 150's..its a VP..its gonna spool slow...get used to it

Fixed it for you.

Honestly with that size housing and those injectors, I don't see how the OP is over-fueling it. Most guys running a 64 are running 200s or larger with a VP.

Also, to help clarify: OP - what are you defining "spool" as? Is the needle just coming off of the 0 on the gauge? 5 psi? Lit?

Adjust your valves to .08 intake and .15 exhaust. That will help some. Proper right foot control is nessicary for good turbo spool you can just floor it and go fast...

They are suppose to be 125s. I havent seen it run with this charger yet, but with the comp on 5x5 and a 35/40 it would flat out roll smoke for 125s.

Its easy for a vp truck to over fuel a charger down low, at least with the tuning aggressive. I think the sublevels need turned down like he is thinking, that would help.

I believe it also has the older blue single disc convertor from DTT, not sure on the stall of it though. Need to see if its really low possibly.

That is true. I usually ease into the throttle, but I have not yet been able to not get the turbo to light because of too much fuel.

im going to try to put my other edge on tonight and adjust the valves see what happens if not i guess ill talk to e.d and have him make me a t3 houseing for that charger or just buy a new set of injectors
