went to a local pull last night and one of my old friends bought one of them new dual disc from spec he is runnin a 2.8 charger around 5krpms and other mods the truck usally pulls good but the new dual disc wouldn't hold he made it half track and a freeze plug blew out and dumped coolant all over the track least to say he was pissed just wonderin if anyone else was runnin one needless to say my new south bend held like a champ kinda hard to beat some of the common brands and if anyone has looked at their prices why would anyone try :badidea:http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Dodge/Full-Sized_Truck-Diesel/2004/Super_Twin lets hear ur comments

I was there also. It never came close to lockin up. I diffinantly think that SPEC did not do their homework on the pulling clutches.

na i dont think they did, he called parts house and ordered a 11lbs radiator cap he thinks that will fix it lol he is makin to much coolant pressure i believe

2 years ago when I got rid of my stock clutch, SPEC talked me into a stage 3 plus single disc. I said I wanted to pull, they said no problem, slip it it'll be fine. Oh it slipped not trying on the street. It appeared to be nothing more than a poor feramic. Slipped at 450 hp, on my buddies truck, and mine was the same way. I wouldn't buy another SPEC for anything. Sorry about your buddies luck.

o dont worry he is hardheaded he said he was gonna go to hasily dd and it says 750hp rating:hehe::hehe::hehe:
my south bend is rated at the same and i won the open class and drove it home 3850lbs plate load and i have dynoed 800hp knowing what i know now i should have ordered it first :rockwoot::rockwoot:

lol, those prices arent even competetive with SBC prices that I've paid. I could see someone maybe trying them out if they were half the price and really in a tight pinch, but wiht SBC customer service and strong rep, even then it'd be hard to see anyone going that way.

yeah, I have a spec stage 5, and I am slippin it with no pulls and right around 500hp! Junk IMO!! The pressure plates are made for gasser trash, and made to engage at 1600 rpm not 3,000! thats what justin @ SPEC told me after i pulled the clutch and we inspected it after about 5,000mi, I was pissed because they wouldn't warranty it! It chatters, engages harshly, and doesn't hold! it will slip off the line drag racing and not catch like my con-fe would and it will also slip in 5th and 6th! Piece of **** IMO! 750hp my arse!
