Hello all. Just wanting to gain knowledge on everything diesel. I'm looking into purchasing an 04 lly duramax in the next month or so. Need some guidance and tips on what to look for in a used truck. The truck i'm looking at right now is in florida so i cant really look up close at it, but any suggestions would be great!

A few questions to start off. Is it a bad idea to buy a truck that already has a programmer, exhaust, lift, rims, and tires? how about mileage on a truck? what is too high?

Welcome Eric, man i just recently spent two months searching for my first powerstoke buy and even though its tempting to buy a truck with all the goodies already done you just never know how the truck was used and abused
 
thanks guys! and i'm in south texas. about 2 hours from austin, houston, corpus, san antonio.

Are there any keys areas to look at on a truck to tell if its been abused?

I used to be really heavy into f-body's so i know all about them and their little quirks but these diesels are a whole knew ball game to me. lol
