I've been reading posts on this site for a few weeks & thought I would say hi.

I'm currently building an '82Chevy truck with an LLY Duramax / Allison.

It has been a serious learing process & I'm quickly coming up to speed in terms of diesel technology, since I primarily focused on gas motors in the past. I'm looking forward to the performance without single digit fuel economy.

I just set the cab on tonight. Now I'm getting anxious, even though I have months of work to go.

Anyone have any contacts with the popular diesel magazines as I am trying to detail it enough to qualify as magazine feature material?

I have a link to my site below if anyone wants to follow the progress.

Please endure my endless questions to help me get this finished.
Thanks,

Glad to have you here Lonnie!!! Welcome to Comp D!

That truck is dead sexy man!

welcome lonnie. glad to see more classic iron close home!!! just wish i had more time and money to make mine that nice!!

Thanks everyone. I'll be here often, reading up on everything that I can.
I'm hoping to drive it in the spring & it still needs a ton of work.

I already had it running so that is a major hurdle, now I have to start fitting the dash & wiring to make everything look like it belongs.

He can't be that bad compared to me. I think PA was happy to see me leave...:hehe: That or sad to se all the tax money I spent on alch leave... one or the other.

Nice to see a lot of local guys here. Also I never heard of Discount Power Parts & they are only 1.5hrs away from me. You learn something new every day.

Keep in touch & maybe we can meet up at a race or pull somewhere this summer.

Planning to do a little drag racing once it is done.

Hey Lonnie, nice truck! I grew up in the middle of nowhere about 30 miles east of da 'burgh, just about 15 minuntes on the other side of Monroeville. If you've ever been to Pittsburgh Raceway Park (formerly Keystone Dragstrip) , I'm about 10 minutes from there Still go back that way often on the weekends. I'd love to see that beast in person.

I'm about 35mi SW of the track. Used to work in Export, PA so I spent a lot of time around there.
