1999 24v with 82xxx miles. Dad picked it up for 6xxx. Just had a new dash from dodge put in it, then we sent it and had the interior redone, and every fluid and filter changed. Now it needs a lift pump LOL. But here she is. 100% stock.
Get a fass ddrp. It fits in stock location, and keeps the fuel pressure where it needs to be. Unless your are planning on modding the truck a lot this pump will work fine. I have on on my bone stock 99 that I use for running back and forth for work
Airdog FRRP 100 and we have a 150 that we just released to dealers yesterday, it comes with a "Big Line Kit" from the pump to filter and filter to vp44.
Just install it for him that way you won't have to worry about changing that factory one multiple times.
Nice truck. Just buy a flow through stock replacement. They bolt right up, plug right in, and in the factory spot. Also IF they burn up, (Which I haven't ever seen out of about 200 installs) they flow through and won't damage the VP. Also only cost about 200$
