Hello everyone. I am in the market for a newer pickup. My fiance and I are into horses so I am looking to get a pickup that will handle a goose neck easily. I found a 2005 Dodge with a cummings with 154,000 on the ticker from a "friend" for $8,500. It runs great but smokes white or bluish when going down the road. I MEAN SMOKES! scan tool says crank shaft position sensor. just wonder your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. Seems like a deal even if I need to put a couple grand into it.

ya i agree but those sensors are not hard to change and arent that expensive and sometimes those scan tools are wrong some trucks will say the sensor is out and some will say the injector is out and will do the same thing.

I doubt a crank sensor would make it smoke blue. tell him to put a CPS on it and if that fixes it, you'll buy it.
