Well i ventured over to the ford dealership the other day and traded off the cummins, but found an issue with the 6.4. This thing goes into regen every 30 miles, any ideas why? Its an 08 job 1, has all the latest flashes...and yes i give it time to go through the full regen. It sucks to have to drive 20 min every 30 miles when it kicks in.

That's way too often. 150 minimum but normally around 300 or so. Depends on your driving too. Are you sure you're giving it enough time to complete?

i kno i kno, i'll do the deletes down the road.....just not right away. I've only had it a couple weeks and don't want to start yanking things right away, even though it is a turd. First DPF truck i've had, kinda want to figure out the ends and outs on it before i do many mods.

take it to dealer and have them do a forced regen it will help it out from what i have heard.. i dont know if spartan or sct tuners will do this for you.

You cant do a forced regen, I almost think you have an exhaust back pressure sensor issue

so the forced regen is only good for the gm and dodge crowd? sorry guys

Maybe there is actually something wrong with the DPF itself? I've never heard of this. Why not just delete it all now if you're planning on doing it later anyways?

Started rollin out a good bit of white smoke with the regens now...Guessin its time for the dealership monday

Plan on waiting till closer to the warranty runs out, I put 50k a year or better on all my trucks, so it wont be long.

I've had people suggest a cracked DPF, sensors, EGR problems, could be about anything. This 6.4 is a whole different animal from my old 5.9, lots of pointless crap to delete :bang

tuner gets rid of most of the pointless stuff, if you do egr block offs and a dpf delete its pretty much just a regular old diesel :D

True, i'll probably bite the bullet and do it when i get it back from the dealer. I'm starting to miss the fun factor of a fast DD
