new tranny

I just had a new trans put in and i dont like how it shifts at all. when shifting into 3 it seems like the tranny totally disconnects from the engine. the engine revs up and then it will go into gear. I dont think that it should be doing this should it???? I want it to have nice firm shifts. Is there a way that the tranny shop can adjust this with out another rebuild???????????

Sounds like it is already slipping if it is reving before it catches the gear.

Talk to the shop that built it, sounds like the bands are not set correctly.

alright thanks guys. the first time they built it it only lasted 9 days before it completly stopped working blew everything apart this is the second time they redid it and i dont want it to be already slipping.
